Adult Webcam Affiliate Marketing On NSFW Tumblr
Tumblr is one of the most adult-friendly social media networks out there. There’s a huge NSFW community on Tumblr and adult webmasters have always been able to monetize the platform. Tumblr has become more conservative over the years, however. You can no longer just setup an autoblog, toss some ads and scripts up and let the thing start generating followers and income.
Tumblr has cracked down on the ad use from the most popular adult display ad networks. It’s also started banning accounts that were blatant autoblogs with intent to generate revenue. Just because Tumblr is cracking down, doesn’t mean it can’t be monetized. You just have to be smarter about it, and with decreased competition, now’s the best time to do it.
Camming Affiliate Programs Are Still Allowed On Tumblr
Unlike most of the adult ad networks, camming affiliate marketing is still allowed on Tumblr. Although you won’t get paid per click or impression, most camming affiliate programs convert really well and if it’s done right, there’s a much greater earning potential than with the traditional “blackhat” forms of monetizing adult Tumblr.
Revshare Vs Pay-Per-Signup Vs Pay-Per-Lead
These are the most common programs for adult camming affiliate networks. Some networks will only offer one of the three while others will give the webmasters a choice. Here’s the difference between the different payment programs:
Revshare – With revshare, you’ll get a share of all the revenue generated by your referrals. Most programs offer lifetime revshare, while others only give a revshare for a specific amount of time. Obviously lifetime is better than a set duration.
Pay-Per-Signup (PPS) – The webmaster gets paid once a new referral purchases credits. It’s usually a generous commission in the neighborhood of $50 for camming affiliate programs.
Pay-Per-Lead (PPL) – The webmaster will get paid $1-2 (sometimes more) for each free signup they refer. These programs are often appealing because free signups are easier to get than actual conversions.
I always do revshare whenever possible. It might not be the most profitable program at the beginning, but it’ll definitely pay off in the long run. All you need to do is refer one big spender and you’ll be making money off each purchase for a long time, perhaps even life!
If you’re doing PPL, you should be aware that if your traffic isn’t converting / performing you might be banned from the affiliate program, or lose the privilege of using their PPL program. The idea of PPL is that the affiliate network and the camming site will both get enough conversions to be able to cover the lost money from the leads that don’t convert. If the leads aren’t performing good, the program itself isn’t profitable. Most affiliate networks with PPL programs monitor traffic quality from all their affiliates to make sure their traffic is profitable.
So, if your traffic is good enough for PPL, it’s good enough for PPS or revshare and both the other program types will most likely be more profitable. If they’re not, there’s a good chance you’ll lose your PPL privilege anyway and be stuck choosing between PPS or revshare in the end.
NSFW Tumblr / Adult Camming Money Making Methods
And now for the actual money making methods. There’s several ways to profit from NSFW Tumblr and camming programs. Here’s some ideas for monetizing your NSFW Tumblr blog:
Image Click-Through Links – Perhaps the best way of making money off NSFW Tumblr. Post sexy photos onto your blog and set the image click-through with your referral links. Obviously it helps if it’s a deeplink going directly to the model’s chat room or profile page. We’ll go over where to get the photos for the content later.
Add Banners To Tumblr Blog – Unlike most adult display ad networks, Tumblr still allows camming affiliate banners to be added to the description of the blog. Some affiliate programs give you a script to paste, while others you’ll have to code the image and click-through link yourself.
Setup Autoblogs Using RSS – Even though autoblogs are technically against their TOS, a lot of affiliates still have a lot of luck with churn-and-burn Tumblr autoblogs. There’s many camming affiliate programs offering RSS as a promotional tool and these can be used to automate the Tumblr posting. Unfortunately, most of the images are small and low quality, but some feeds are better than others.
Promote A Camming Whitelabel – If you’re running a whitelabeled camming site, you can use Tumblr to promote your whitelabel. This can be done using any of the methods above, except instead of sending traffic to the vanilla camming site, you send it to your whitelabel instead.
Where To Get Photo Content To Post To Tumblr
Unlike other adult affiliate programs, not every camming affiliate network will give you content to use to promote their site. This can make posting to Tumblr a difficult task. Luckily there’s some programs that do provide content and some other things you can do to post content to your Tumblr. There’s also some other ways to post content to your Tumblr blog. Here’s how:
Camming Affiliate Programs With Content – As mentioned above, there are a couple programs that do give you content to help promote them. Those programs will be mentioned further down in this post. These programs are your best bet for affiliate marketing through Tumblr.
Reblogging Other Camgirls Photos – There are many camgirls using Tumblr to market their services. These models are regularly posting photo content to their Tumblr blogs. Reblogging their pictures is a great way to build up your own content.
Scraping Content From Camming Sites – This is a little blackhat, even though you are promoting their affiliate programs. Some models blatantly state on their profile that no one can distribute any content found on their profile, even if you’re an affiliate. On the other hand, some models prefer the publicity, especially if you’re doing deeplinking.
Use Other Adult Photos – You don’t necessarily need camgirl / amateur / homemade photo content in order to promote a camming affiliate program, although it will generate more qualified traffic. If you have the rights to use any adult photo content, you can use it to drive traffic. You’ll probably use banners instead of image click-through if you go this route, as the click-through will probably go to the program the content is meant to promote.
Affiliate Programs That Give Content For Promotion
Here are the camming affiliate programs that give you content that you can use to post to Tumblr and promote their programs:
XLoveCam – A european camming network. The XLoveCam affiliate program has tons of promotional content including photo gallery zip files. This should give you enough content to promote. XLoveCam also has an easy to use tool to build deeplinks to specific model profile pages
CamWithHer – The CamWithHer affiliate program gives you FHGs to choose from as well as the Photo of the Day. Both forms of photo content can be used to build up your Tumblr blog.
ImLive – ImLive offers a large selection of downloadable zip photo galleries that you can use to promote their program and build up your Tumblr blog.
iFriends – It’s a little tricky to find, but in the monthly affiliate newsletter iFriends will feature a model. iFriends gives their affiliates a collection of HD photos and a direct model linking code to promote the model of the month each month.
Streamate – Streamate provides several FHGs, but very few of them. Although the selection is limited, at least they provide some photo content.
Other Good Camming Affiliate Programs
Chaturbate – My most profitable camming affiliate program. They don’t offer photo content that you can use for promotion, but they do offer an RSS feed. Unfortunately the photos are small in size. They do give a wide range of other promotional tools, however.
BongaCams – The camming site with the most global traffic. BongaCams offers a wide range of promotional tools.
MyFreeCams – Only offers revshare, but has some good conversion rates and some beautiful animated banners.
